Cardinals score 3 in seventh to pull within 9-6

The Cardinals put an end to a piece of Dodgers history in the seventh inning when they scored three runs to snap reliever Adam Liberatore's string of scoreless appearances at 28 games. The streak is a franchise record.

Aledmys Diaz had a sacrifice fly and Stephen Piscotty doubled home two runs as the Cardinals cut the Dodgers' lead to 9-6 after trailing 9-1 in the second inning.

The Cardinals bullpen followed Mike Mayers' rough debut with five scoreless innings. Seth Maness was particularly effective in 3 2/3 innings of work.

The Cards scored one in the first inning and two in the second on a two-run homer by Tommy Pham.
