Cardinals, Red Sox set for first of two at Busch

After taking two of three over the weekend from the archrival Cubs, the division-leading Cardinals (21-15) open a two-game set against another of baseball's historical franchises, the Boston Red Sox, in 7:15 p.m. interleague games Tuesday and Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

The Cardinals enter Tuesday's action having won eight of their last nine games.

The defending American League East champion Red Sox are 19-18 and trail the division-leading New York Yankees by four games. The Cardinals will visit legendary Fenway Park for a two-game set in Boston on Aug. 15-16.

The Red Sox, who have yet to develop any consistency in 2017, feature some of the top young position players in baseball, including reigning American League player of the week Mookie Betts.
