It won't yet be the sea of red that consumes downtown St. Louis but there will be plenty of fans permitted into Busch Stadium to give Nolan Arenado a raucous standing ovation in hits first at-bat of the Cardinals’ home opener.
A crowd of close to 15,000 will be present for home games, starting when the Cardinals host Kolten Wong’s Milwaukee Brewers on April 8 at Busch Stadium. After months of discussions with local city and health officials, the team received permission to bring fans back to the ballpark, the club and St. Louis City mayor’s office announced Thursday morning.
