SAN FRANCISCO • In a reversal of rallies, it wasn't the Cardinals that took the lead with power.
Rather they chipped away with timely hits.
The Cardinals have inched back from an early deficit to tie the Giants, 2-2, after 3 1/2 innings at AT&T Park on Thursday. Randal Grichuk has been involved in both of the runs. He doubled and scored in the third inning to break Johnny Cueto's line, and the Cardinals' center fielder singled home the tying run with one out in the fourth inning.
Cueto has minimized some of the Cardinals threats -- striking out Adam Wainwright to end the fourth inning with two runners on base.
