Once again, the Cardinals wasted no time in responding to falling behind. A half-inning after falling behind on an inside-the-park homer, the Cardinals tied the game on an outside-the-park homer to make it 3-3 after seven innings.
Matt Carpenter hit a 1-0 pitch that just cleared the fence in center field to tie the game. It was the 19th home run of the season for Carpenter, and it came off reliever Dovydas Neverasukas.
