While sitting inside the home dugout of Class AAA Memphis’s AutoZone Park, Cardinals rookie and the organization’s top prospect Jordan Walker could only refrain from breaking superstition when asked if his swagger had returned over the past two weeks.
“I don’t really like saying stuff too much like that,” the 21-year-old said Friday in Memphis, Tennessee. “I just kind of just play the game. I don’t really say it. I don’t like jinxing myself.”
As he continues to rediscover the form that elevated him to one of the top prospects in baseball at the start of 2023, just playing has been working for Walker of late.
