Coming off a 13-5 win in the series opener on Monday, the Cardinals turn to young righthander Daniel Ponce de Leon when they play the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at Busch Stadium.
Called up to replace Michael Wacha, who was placed on the 10-day injured list because of a left knee patellar tendinitis that surfaced from a between-starts workout, Ponce de Leon is seeking his first major-league victory. In three starts this season with Triple A Memphis, he's 2-0 with a 3.24 earned-run average. In 16 2/3 innings this season, he's allowed 19 hits and six earned runs while striking out 13 and walking five.
