Twice in the past fortnight, the Cardinals have been able to get All-Star Miles Mikolas an extra day between starts, and they will do so again this coming week as they introduce a sixth starter and keep Adam Wainwright on turn for Sunday night’s start against the Dodgers. The purpose, manager Mike Shildt said early Tuesday, is to do whatever’s necessary to keep Mikolas strong and sharp in his first full season as a starter.
