JUPITER, Fla. • At some point Thursday as he prepared for another scoreless appearance and his second save of spring, Dominic Leone and a few other Cardinals relievers chatted throughout the day about the various roles they’ve all had in the bullpen. A few have been long relievers. A couple have been specialists. They’ve set up, mopped up, and moved down, throwing anywhere from the fifth to the eighth, the sixth to the ninth, or any and all of them.
Some have even closed a few times.
“Honestly, it’s a relief,” Leone said, recalling the conversation.
