Cardinals offense sputters in 6-3 loss to Marlins

The Cardinals couldn't get five innings out of starter Michael Wacha on Sunday, which turned the game over to the bullpen, which led to, well, you know.

The Cardinals scratched back from two runs down to tie the game in the sixth, but then dug another two-run hole in the seventh with Jonathan Broxton on the mound en route to a 6-3 loss to the Marlins on a steamy Sunday at Busch Stadium.

The Cardinals battled for their runs: they got a home run by Matt Holliday, batting cleanup, for one, had another score on a wild pitch and the third on throwing error by the shortstop.
