“I think any time you hit a ball hard, good things are going to happen,” the first baseman said. “Line drives. Ground balls. Fly balls. Whatever it is, that’s the goal. If you’re doing that, you can even have games or even weeks when you don’t have the success but if you consistently hit the ball hard eventually things work out. For me, each day is trying to find a way to do that.”
“It’s something I’ve been thinking about,” Goldschmidt said. “Obviously I’ve had the homers. But there have been a lot of strikeouts and times I’ve been 0-for and the average (suffers).
