According to Baseball Reference statistics, as researched by the Cardinals public relations staff, Dickerson’s 11 hits over his past three games before Friday fell just one short of Musial’s club record of 12 for hits in three successive games in 1946. Musial also had 11 hits in three consecutive games on three other occasions.
Ten of Dickerson’s hits came in succession, the longest streak by a Cardinal since the expansion era began in 1961.
“I’ve had good streaks. But 10 for 10 is pretty unique. Pretty cool,” said Dickerson.
“Dickerson forgot how to get out,” said manager Oliver Marmol.
