The Cardinals have recently announced their non-roster invitees for 2021 Spring Training and among them are some familiar and interesting names. There is, of course, highly-touted prospects like Matthew Liberatore, who appear along with Dylan Carlson on Baseball America’s Top 100 prospects. Other notable names are outfielder Lars Nootbaar, a 23-year-old drafted in the eighth round of the 2018 draft and Delvin Pérez, the slick-fielding shortstop the Cardinals drafted as a 17-year-old back in 2016. The now 22-year-old former first rounder has had some offensive struggles as he worked his way up to A ball, but what was exciting about him initially was his glove.
