MIAMI-- Kwang Hyun Kim, recovered from spring training back stiffness, will make what portends to be his final rehabilitation appearance on Tuesday, facing hitters remaining in Cardinals camp at Jupiter, Florida.
Manager Mike Shildt surmised that Kim would pitch five or six innings—in the 75-pitch range—and more significantly said that Kim wouldn’t need any more such outings if he came through this one unscathed. Kim will travel to St. Louis with the team after Wednesday’s game here.
That means Kim’s next start would be with the Cardinals, perhaps as early as next week.
“There’s nowhere for him to go, otherwise,” said Shildt.
