Garcia started 34 games this year — 16 at second base, 13 at shortstop and five at third base — and appeared in 114 total games, including one as a pitcher when he worked a scoreless inning.
This is Garcia’s first year to be eligible for salary arbitration and the Cardinals feel they are well-stocked with utility infielders. Already at the big-league level is Yairo Munoz, who was here most of the season.
