NEW YORK • The slow start newcomer Dexter Fowler has had to his first year with the Cardinals almost got a booster shot in the seventh inning.
With the tying run at third and the go-ahead run at second base, Fowler tagged a 92-mph pitch to deep right-center field. That is the power alley here at Yankee Stadium, and already Friday night two homers have gone out of the ballpark in that same direction. Fowler's shot to the gap, however, was tracked down by Aaron Judge near the wall, just feet from giving the Cardinals the lead.
