Another triple, and two more runs
The Cardinals were not yet two innings into their home opener, and they already had two triples. And a 5-0 lead over the Brewers.
Matt Carpenter's one-out drive to center field scored Aledmys Diaz, who led off the second with a hard-hit grounder that escaped Brewers shortstop Jonathan Villar.
Rookie sensation Jeremy Hazelbaker scored Carpenter easily with a fly ball to right field.
Cardinals starter Michael Wacha buckled down after surrendering two hits in the first inning. He delivered a 1-2-3 second and faced just four batters, walking one, before a Scooter Gennett lineout ended the third.
