Well, it’s July 4th and the St. Louis Cardinals, despite their four game losing streak, lead the Pittsburg Pirates by six games. It’s a comfortable lead, but the Birds on the Bat are trudging through the dog days of July and it’s no time for them to become complacent. The injury bug has hit the Cardinals hard this season: Adam Wainwright, Matt Adams, Matt Holliday, Jordan Walden, Jon Jay, and most recently Matt Belisle. Even with these significant injuries, the Cardinals have kept at their winning ways.
