An inside-the-park home run by Adam Frazier in the seventh inning cost the Cardinals the lead and their centerfielder on Saturday night.
Dexter Fowler crashed into the center field fence in pursuit of Frazier's long fly ball to center and didn't get up until long after the play ended as the Pirates went up 3-2. Fowler finally got up and left the field under his own power, but slowly, accompanied by a trainer and manager Mike Matheny. Fowler hit the wall with his left leg raised in the air; his head didn't seem to make contact with the wall.
