Cardinals fall 6-5 to Giants in rainy, see-saw affair

In a battle of shaky bullpens, the Cardinals shook harder.

Though the Cardinals mounted a comeback after a 46-minute rain delay, the bullpen could not hold the lead as they fell to the Giants 6-5 in Friday’s opener. Sam Tuivailala and Seung-hwan Oh combined to allow three runs in the final two frames to sink the Cardinals.

In the first few innings, the Cardinals could not do much against Giants starter Matt Moore. The home team only got one hit through two innings.

But in the third, Dexter Fowler led off with a triple and came home to score on Tommy Pham’s sacrifice fly.
