With their first pick, the 18th overall pick of the 2021 MLB Draft, the Cardinals selected right-handed pitcher Michael McGreevy from UC Santa Barbara.
Coming in at 6’4”, 215 pounds, McGreevy is a 21-year-old who began college as a primary shortstop. It was after his freshman year that he made the switch to the mound full-time and it seems like it sure paid off. In three seasons for the Gauchos, McGreevy had a 2.33 ERA with 194 strikeouts and just 31 walks in 189 innings.
McGreevy was, of course, covered in one of A.
