CHICAGO • The Chicago Cubs on Monday night put themselves into position to accomplish something they never have.
Yes, it's been 107 years since they won a World Series and that potential is a couple of rounds off yet. But the Cubs, who outhomered the Cardinals to take an 8-6 decision in Game 3 of the best-of-five National League division series, never have won a postseason series at home.
They have bagged just three overall, but they won the final game of both the 1907 and 1908 World Series at Bennett Park in Detroit and the 2003 National League division series at Atlanta's Turner Field.
