Ignoring this latest stretch, the Cardinals have been playing some pretty good baseball in 2019. These good spirits have continued with the St. Louis Blues, who will be playing in the franchise’s fourth ever Conference Finals (in 1972 the team made it to the “Semi-Finals” which is essentially the same thing — including that would make it the team’s fifth appearance) in hopes of advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals.
The road there was bumpy for the Blues though. The deciding game seven against the Dallas Stars went five minutes into its second overtime before St. Louis-area native Pat Maroon send a rebound off a Bob Thomas shot past Stars goalie Ben Bishop.
