After a flurry of promised deadline deals Tuesday afternoon, the St. Louis Cardinals took the field on Tuesday night down a few men against a Twins squad that has every opportunity to win a mediocre AL Central division this season. Miles Mikolas started in place of Jack Flaherty, who was projected to start this game but was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for second baseman Cesar Prieto, left-handed pitcher Drew Rom, and right-handed pitcher Zack Showalter.
