JUPITER, Fla. • Of all of the things the Cardinals expected prospect Jordan Hicks to do quickly this spring -- from his 100-mph fastball to his rise toward the majors -- the last on the list was what happened.
The pitcher who manager Mike Matheny referred to as the "biggest arm in camp," will return to the main stage Wednesday and is set to make his Grapefruit League debut against the Marlins. It's a lot later than planned because Hicks' demotion from major-league camp happened more suddenly than anyone expected. Hicks violated team policy when he had difficulty being punctual.
