ST. LOUIS • The Cardinals will take 61 players into spring training, including 22 who are non-roster invites and six players who are new to the organization and on the 40-man roster.
The newcomers to the 40-man roster are: pitchers Jayson Aquino, Matt Bowman, Mike Leake and Seung Hwan Oh, catcher Brayan Pena and infielder Jedd Gyorko
Magneuris Sierra and Alex Reyes will headline the 26 prospects coming to the Cardinals' STEP camp. The STEP camp -- Spring Training Early Program -- is set aside for major-league camp to invite young players to early workouts.
