Holding the second National League wild-card spot, the Cardinals (87-69) begin their final homestand of the regular season 7:15 p.m. Monday against NL Central rival Milwaukee for the first of three at Busch Stadium.
In the series-opening Monday game against the Brewers, the Cardinals will look to rookie righthander Jack Flaherty (8-8, 3.08 earned-run average). He's coming off his roughest start of the season, allowing five earned runs over 4 2/3 innings in a 7-3 loss at Atlanta, but he's 1-0 while allowing just two earned runs over 18 innings over three starts against Milwaukee.
