The 1967 World Series champion Cardinals had five Hall of Famers, including manager Red Schoendienst, and a couple of others who perhaps should have been in the late Curt Flood and Roger Maris. A sizable portion of that club was on hand at the Cardinals’ offices Wednesday afternoon before it was to be honored at Busch Stadium before Wednesday’s game with Boston and the message was uniform. The players on that Cardinals team really enjoyed being around one another and not just because the club won the National League pennant and the World Series.
