ST. LOUIS — Patrons at Busch Stadium on Sept. 18 found that they were charged two or three times for items purchased at concession stands.
Or four or five or six times. Or 20.
Jason Piscia of Chatham, Illinois, bought two bottles of water for a total of $12.79. His banking app, which sends an alert every time the card is charged, sent him more than 20 alerts throughout the game.
Other purchases he made at the game were only charged once.
A Cardinals spokesman said there was a nationwide problem with FreedomPay, the company that processes credit card transactions for Delaware North, the company that sells food at Busch Stadium and sports venues across the country.
