ST. LOUIS -- Reliever Carlos Villanueva didn't want to hear about it, but the inevitable questions came anyway after five more scoreless innings by the Cardinals' bullpen Saturday against the Pirates.
Cardinals relievers have now pitched 20 consecutive scoreless innings, spanning five games. The bullpen's latest effort helped the Cardinals complete a 2-1 comeback win over the Pirates.
"It's good to come out on the positive side," Villanueva said. "We don't read too much into streaks and innings like that, because it's going to come a time when it's going to be probably the other way around.
