Jesus Aguilar and Travis Shaw hit the second and third Milwaukee homers off Cardinals lefthander Marco Gonzales in two innings as the Brewers went ahead 5-2 Tuesday night.
Aguilar, who has six home runs for the season, hit a full-count pitch 410 feet to left center to lead off the fourth inning and Travis Shaw followed with his 11th to right field.
The Brewers, already up 3-2, continued to get better swings at Gonzales, a fastball-changeup pitcher, the second time through the lineup. Manny Pina doubled off the left-field wall with one out and Keon Broxton, who had homered in the third, tripled to left score Pina for the third run of the inning and move ahead 4-2.
