Brewers make big defensive plays in win

There was pomp. And circumstance. And trucks. Many trucks.

“I’d never seen so many trucks on the field, like today,” said Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Carlos Gomez. “Why did they not give me one?”

After the Cardinals’ traditional pregame ritual Monday of Clydesdales, Hall of Famers in cars, present players in trucks, there was a tribute to the late Oscar Taveras and then the twist of a Willie McGee-Ozzie Smith first-pitch battery.
