Facing a formidable lefthander in Pittsburgh's Francisco Liriano, the Cardinals will install two extra righthanded bats in their lineup on Saturday at Busch Stadium.
Liriano is 4-1 with a 1.98 earned-run average against St. Louis in eight career starts.
With that in mind, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny has inserted Peter Bourjos in center field, batting in the No. 8 spot. Bourjos had two hits and keyed a 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in a start earlier this week.
