While this entire season is still a wash, the Cardinals have been playing a bit better of late, winning five of their last eight games. While 5-3 won’t blow anyone away, those games were against twoplayoff teams in the Braves and Orioles, as well as the Reds, who are within striking distance. A win Wednesday night would mean three consecutive series wins against playoff-caliber teams.
