It’s all over but the hate watching. Tuesday night in San Francisco proved to be the ultimate tease for Cardinals fans who long to see the Cubs fall short yet again.
After eight innings, the Giants appeared on the verge of tying the best-of-five Division Series against the Cubs. They only needed three outs in the ninth to send a chill through a Cubs fan base that still cringes at the mention of Steve Bartman, the Curse of the Billy Goat and even Mrs. O’Leary’s cow.
These aren’t the 1969 Cubs that tanked in late September to let the Miracle Mets catch and surpass them.
