1. This is raises the level of embarrassment for the Cardinals' organization. Correa wasn't a flunky. He wasn't some low-profile guy that worked in the scouting department in an entry-level position. He wasn't a fringe player, an obscure name, an anonymous analyst. Correa was a rising star in the St. Louis baseball operation, promoted three times since joining the organization in 2009.
Last offseason GM John Mozeliak quickly appointed Correa to lead the scouting department after Dan Kantrovitz left to become the assistant GM at Oakland.
