Some notes on my home-opener scorecard:
1. The Cardinals' starters did a positive job the first time trough the five-man rotation, with a 2.37 ERA over the first 30.1 innings. Four of the five starts were quality starts. Adam Wainwright, Lance Lynn, John Lackey, Michael Wacha and Carlos Martinez combined to allow a very low 0.86 walks/hits per inning. They struck out 27 and walked only six. And all five Cardinals went at least 6 innings. That may not sound like much, but no other National League rotation had every starter go at least 6 in the season's first week.
