With the Cardinals' front office embroiled in a shameful hacking scandal, it's an unsettling and disturbing time in an a happy baseball town that delights in the team's success and "Best Fans" status.
The fallout of the FBI investigation and subsequent findings will inevitably carry a negative impact on the franchise's reputation. But this messy and tawdry business is already providing plenty of ammo for critics and haters that are thrilled to have an opportunity to invalidate the Cardinals' success and ridicule the STL fan base. It's open season.
And I don't think it's personal.
