The Cardinals venture into Coors Field on Monday night to open a three-game series against the Colorado Rockies, and by the time the visitors come home to St. Louis, we can probably expect to see some inflation of their MLB-lowest 2.58 earned-run average.
The 30 MLB teams have combined for an ERA of 3.86 so far this season.
The industry-wide ERA at Coors Field is 5.32.
So if Cards' pitchers walk away from Coors with a few bruises, do not be alarmed. Coors Field never has been and never will be a fair or representative venue for pitchers.
