Those familiar with the ups and downs of Kolten Wong have learned to be cautious when it comes to grand declarations about the Cardinals' fifth-year second baseman.
As soon as Wong's fate seems obvious — He's a future All-Star! He's a platoon guy! He's destined for a trade! — his trajectory shifts.
And perhaps that will prove true once again.
But Tuesday night sure seemed like some sort of breakthrough, both for the player and the manager he has clashed with in the past.
