SAN DIEGO — Forgive me Cardinal Nation, for I have sinned.
I coveted another club.
During a Cardinals season that was impressive because of the COVID-19 curveballs Mike Shildt’s resilient club refused to buckle against, but often far from impressive between the lines, my attention wandered.
Not the Dodgers.
You could say I’m familiar with the Padres.
You could say there have been a few times this season I stayed up late watching San Diego.
