Bad outweighs good as Cardinals lose to Brewers

The Cardinals, after being drummed by the Milwaukee Brewers in the first game of a four-game series Thursday night, were able to score in just three innings in the next three games. The good news was that in two of the games, they scored four runs in one inning and five in another and won both.

The good news Sunday was that Cardinals righthanded rookie Luke Weaver reaffirmed that he is a keeper. After allowing a run in a tedious, 29-pitch first inning on two hits and a sacrifice fly, Weaver, displaying more movement on his fastball and flashing a host of other pitches, allowed just one more hit in the next five innings.
