Freddie Freeman and Adonis Garcia hit three-run homers and 35-year-old Roberto Hernandez — known as Fausto Carmona until 2011 — picked up the win in his first appearance with the Braves as Atlanta beat the Cardinals 13-5 before a sellout crowd 45,468 at Busch Stadium on Saturday night.
It was the 16th home sellout of the season.
The Cardinals and Braves close out their three-game set Sunday at 1:15 p.m.
Hernandez, whose last start came on July 19, 2015, last picked up a win on July 3 of last season when he pitched a scoreless 10th inning in a 10-8 Houston win at Boston.
