For the third time in as many games against Milwaukee, the Cardinals starter failed to contain the dimensions of Miller Park and see his outing into the sixth inning. The Brewers thumped first-year starter Dakota Hudson for three home runs and then held fast for a 4-2 victory Saturday night at home. Both bullpens have distinguished themselves in the series, leaving the games to be determined by damage done by Paul Goldschmidt one night or damage done against the Cardinals’ rotation the other two.
In his first major-league start, Hudson allowed four runs (three earned) on seven hits.
