After rocky start, bullpen 'coming together' for Cardinals

The three-week progress report for the Cardinals:

Starting pitching • Outstanding in the case of Mike Leake, Lance Lynn and Michael Wacha, whose collective earned-run average is 2.08 and won-lost mark is 7-3 before Wacha faces Toronto here Tuesday night. Good overall, even with Carlos Martinez and Adam Wainwright going 1-6 between them.

Offense • Poor, notably in hitting with runners in scoring position, except for the pitchers. Players are batting .185 in those spots, pitchers .267.

Defense • Spotty, at best.

Baserunning • Also spotty but trending upward as Kolten Wong regains his confidence.
