After rain delay, Brewers hold 7-4 lead in eighth

Hernan Perez’s two-out single scored Domingo Santana from second as the Milwaukee Brewers stretched their lead to 7-4 in the seventh inning Wednesday night as rain began falling at Busch Stadium.

Santana doubled with one out against lefthanded reliever Kevin Siegrist, who fielded Travis Shaw’s comebacker for the second out. But Perez singled to right and Stephen Piscotty made an off-line throw home as Santana scored easily. After Siegrist struck out Manny Pina for the final out, the grounds crew was summoned to cover the field just before much heavier rain came.

The game resumed after a 50-minute delay and Milwaukee reliever Carlos Torres pitched out of a two-on, two-out spot in the Cardinals' seventh

LEAKE, GARZA BOUNCE BACK
