JUPITER, Fla. • Matt Adams belted his second homer of the spring, lofting a Mike Foltynewicz offering over the right-field wall in the fourth inning, to tie the Atlanta Braves 1-1. Adams, serving as the designated hitter on Saturday, is hitting .240 for the spring.
GANT PERFECT FOR THREE INNINGS
John Gant, acquired from Atlanta in the Jaime Garcia trade made after last season, throttled the Braves for the first three innings Saturday, facing nine hitters and retiring all nine. Gant struck out three, throwing 22 strikes in only 31 pitches before turning the game over to Jonathan Broxton, who allowed a run in the fourth on two scratch singles and two stolen bases.
