LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. • Only once during his five-year major league career (regular and postseason) has Matt Adams both hit a home run and stolen a base in the same game.
Spring training doesn't count, but Adams accomplished the rare combination Sunday against the Braves.
The Cardinals took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning thanks to Adams' fourth homer of the spring. Adams, batting fifth today, knocked an offering from Braves starter Julio Teheran over Champion Stadium's right field wall. His steal came in the second.
Adams' last steal-homer combo (when it counted) came against the Colorado Rockies on June 25, 2014.
