Cardinals veteran pitcher Adam Wainwright, the longest-tenured member of the current roster, will make his season debut on Saturday. He’ll take the mound for a club that has been struggling to find its footing this season and won just 10 of its first 32 games.
Wainwright made three starts as part of his minor-league rehab assignment as he has worked his way back from a groin injury.
He hopes to provide a “light” in the clubhouse for his club. In part, that means simply reminding guys what their individual strengths are and what they do to contribute to the team’s success.
