Though he'd been sailing along through the first four innings Thursday night, Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright hit a speed bump in the fifth.
Blue Jays second baseman Darwin Barney led off the inning with a double down the left field line. After he was sacrifice-bunted over to third, Kevin Pillar drove him home with a single to cut the Cardinals' lead to 6-1.
Third baseman Chris Coghlan then doubled with Pillar advancing to third and things looked like they were getting a little hairy. Wainwright struck out the next batter, right fielder Ezequiel Carrera, to ease those concerns.
